The Kelley clan has grown by one–a little girl named Nessie. A sweet Boston terrier baby that already has our heart-after just a few hours in her new home.
I don’t know if this is how it happens for the 2-legged variety since all of my babies are 4-legged, but sometimes your heart just has more love to give and the call to ‘grow the family’ comes in loud and clear. I guess Charlie got the call first and he promptly answered it.
Last week, he announced “I think Jerry would like a playmate,” and went about perusing our favorite rescues on the web and saw Nessie at Safe Place for Animals. She looked just like Jerry’s type-imagine that. So we drove up to the shelter in Gallatin, TN yesterday and promptly brought her back home–she was as sweet and wonderful as we suspected.
Thank you, SPA for two much-loved members of the Kelley family-first Olivia and now Miss Nessie. Charlie’s out right now getting another bowl, a collar and an ID tag for the welcomed addition, and I’m sitting here looking at my happy little family-thankful for the love that these babies bring and hoping they feel it back ten fold.
A little more info about SPA: they’re not only a shelter, but they also have a veterinary office and a groomer on site as well–two extra ways you can support the shelter by using these services. They’re expanding and growing to help more homeless and rescued cats and dogs and welcome your donations to fund building a new kennel area.
