Many of you may know me from my work on TV, but you may not know a lot about me. Like the fact that I love to snow ski, hate olives and I’m a lousy knitter (seriously, it took me a year to make a dish rag). OR how I got the name One Pan Nan??
Well, here’s the story! I moved to Nashville to sing and dance at Opryland theme park and that’s where I met my husband Charlie. Charlie grew up on a farm on the east coast and dinner for him was a meat and 3 vegetables on his plate…and none of them touched. Now where I’m from down in south Mississippi, the casserole is king and I LOVE ‘em! So when we got married, I cooked what I loved and knew how to cook, which back then wasn’t much honestly! He’d raise an eyebrow at all of my casseroles and ask, “What’s this, what are you trying to do-cook everything in one pan, Nan?” Quite frankly, yes–I was and I still am!
Maybe it was all those Sunday dinners with every casserole imaginable or just the pure dislike of washing pots and pans after a big meal. Or maybe it’s because many of us don’t have time these days to orchestrate a multi-pan production because our lives are going ninety miles an hour! Whatever the reason, my One Pan Nan moniker has stuck and I want be a resource for sharing helpful tips, suggestions, products, and of course great one-pan recipes-from my kitchen, my neighbor’s kitchen, or a kitchen across the country. My mission-to help you have more time around the table with your family enjoying the meal & less time over the sink with the dirty dishes.
Here’s a little video explanation of One Pan Nan:
