I get asked all the time what it’s like to work on the Top 20 Countdown every week. People have even won opportunities to spend a day on the set with us in charitable auctions around Nashville. I guess it’s always fun to get away from what you do and see what somebody else does once in awhile. And since so many people ask, I thought I’d take you to work with me for a behind the scenes glimpse into our little video countdown show! You guys see me up on the screen every week, but you don’t get to see the people who are really making it happen with the jobs they do! So here’s a day in the life of lucky Mississippi girl who landed a great gig on Great American Country.
First off, I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years now and still love everything about it! The artists, the music, the travel and the fans are a huge part of why I love going to work. But the main reason is our crew. You’ve heard the statement “It takes a village…” and while that may not be true in all situations, I’d probably say it applies to every TV show and movie you’ve ever seen. I’m so fortunate that our little village is made up of some of the best in the business, real pros, led by the fine folks at Tangible Vision. Plus, we’re all friends and that’s what makes going to work easy and fun.
It all starts with script review while in hair & makeup. Yep. I’m spoiled by some fabulous makeup artists.
Cindy Rich has been making me feel beautiful for a long time.
It takes some of this.
Some of that.
